With beautiful cliff tops and vast ocean views, Watson’s Bay is a sight to behold. The South Head is home to the historic Hornby Lighthouse, and you’ll also find the seafood institution Doyles on the Beach - serving up only the freshest fish, lobster, prawns and more. At only 20 minutes drive away from Zara Tower, this is the perfect place for an afternoon getaway.
Coogee is a family-friendly beach with rock pools perfect for exploring, ocean pools made for swimming and tempered waves for those keen to give the surf a try. The beach is attended by Life Guards in the summer, so make sure you swim between the flags.
A beautiful beach on the North Shore, Manly is easily accessible by ferry from Circular Quay - just over an hour from Zara Tower. Known for its waves, Manly is a popular surfing spot. The reef that creates the waves is also the perfect place to go snorkelling or scuba diving. There are plenty of places to have lunch and dinner - but fish and chips on the beach is the best option in our eyes.
One of Australia’s most iconic beaches, Bondi is a thriving place all year round. It’s the perfect place to set up your towel for the day, bring a picnic and plenty of water and people watch to your heart’s content. At the Bondi Icebergs, there is an ocean pool open to the public.
Whale Beach, to the north of Sydney, is best known for the surf break called ‘The Wedge’ at the north end of the beach. There are plenty of activities to do in the area like Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and kayak tours - but if it’s relaxation you’re after, roll out a towel and just soak up the sunshine.
